Shop closure and SUB renewal

The Bike Kitchen will be closed for reading week from February 16-24. We hope you all have nice break from school and we look forward to hearing about your travels and adventures when you get back!

ALSO:

The SUB renewal process is nearing a general referendum. We need your help to ensure that The Bike Kitchen is allotted an appropriate retail location so that we can grow with the cycling community of UBC. We've been serving the campus community for 10 years this May, and our list of not-so-desirable locations include a portable trailer, a small enclave near the dumpster of the SUB, and now a drippy, leaky, cold, and dark concrete bunker (not that we're complaining). But if cycling advocacy and the other work that we do is important to you, please pass these sentiments on the the SUB renewal committee. For more information about the SUB renewal process, please visit: http://www.amsubc.ca/index.php/ams/subpage/category/subrenewal_consultation_process/
You may also contact the Vice President of Administration for the Alma Mater Society at:
vpadmin@ams.ubc.ca for more information or to show your support for a warmer, more visible space for the Bike Kitchen in the new SUB building!

Thanks for the support!

It is my sad duty to announce that on Friday, the venerable Sheldon Brown passed away. He was arguably the cycling world's most eccentric and exciting figures. His website was an indispensable resource of bicycle wisdom and tomfoolery. He will be deeply missed.
